Every Family Has a Hero: Oral History Event
Every Family Has a Hero: Do you know how your parents met, what your grandfather did during his stint in the army, or why your neighbor eats cabbage every New Year? Everybody has a story, and the Portland District Library wants to help preserve and share the ones in your life. Choose the person in your life that you want to learn more about—an aunt, an old family friend, your mother—and bring them to the library in August to interview them. The interview will be recorded, and you will receive a CD copy to keep forever. Then the interviews will be transcribed and entered into the library collection, thus ensuring that our stories will live on. Call the library at 517-647-6981 to schedule your interview time.
