Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library is an organization made up of people who are advocates of the library. They help by volunteering their time, resources and talent. Through creative programming they help support and promote the library to the community.

Upcoming Meetings 

Meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from September to April. We meet in the Community Room from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Portland District Library. All meetings are open to the public.

 Book Sales

The Annual Book Sale is held in the Spring of each year.

 If you want to donate to the book sale please mention that the items please mention that the books are for the Friends Event so they will not end up in the regular sale.

We are unable to accept donations of:

  • Reader's Digest condensed books 
  • Textbooks 
  • Magazines
  •  Encyclopedias 
  • Books with mold, mildew, or falling apart
